# Richie Havens - Going back to my roots

Another history lesson :-) Geboren wurde Richie Havens im Jahr 1941 als ältestes von 9 Kindern in Bedford-Stuyvesant einem Bezirk von Brooklyn in eine Künstlerfamilie. Obgleich er selbst relativ viele Lieder schrieb, feierte er seine größten Erfolge doch meistens mit diesen Interpretationen. So auch mit der 1980er Coverversion des Lamont-Dozier-Songs Going back to my roots. Die Nummer ist immer noch irrsinnig stark, von den ersten Akkorden bis zum großartigen Finale. Reinhören und geniessen kann ich da nur noch schreiben!
