Weltweit bekannt geworden durch Hits wie „Celebration“ oder „Ladies Night“, stempelten viele [Kool & The Gang](http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kool%5F&%5FThe%5FGang?ref=mrak.at) schnell als uninteressante Pop-Band ab. Ein genauerer Blick auf ihre Diskographie aber offenbart ein schier unglaubliches Repertoire, aus dem hunderte Rap-Songs entstanden. aus dem Jahr 1974 fällt überhaupt etwas aus der Reihe: Es war ein reines Jazz-Album, auf dem unter anderem der Song „Duji“ zu hören ist, der in Hip-Hop-Kreisen als Sample von Gang Starr’s „Jazz Thing“ bekannt wurde.
